I began working for JELD-WEN in the summer of 2002, as a Management Intern at the JELD-WEN United Window Division, in Concord Ontario. Throughout the duration of my internship I had the opportunity to learn about every aspect of the business from the most basic “hands-on” production functions right through to the most senior management business decision-making. Week by week, I was exposed to a different area of the company allowing me to gain a very good understanding of the overall business in a very short period of time.
Following my graduation from the University, as an Industrial Engineer, I returned to JELD-WEN United Window Division to manage the Steel Door Production Department. I enjoyed this position for two years before I was promoted to my current position as Reliability Manager in charge of Safety, Quality and Lean Manufacturing, for all of JELD-WEN United Window Division.
JELD-WEN is a very successful fast growing company that offers enormous opportunity for anyone looking for a successful and challenging career. The JELD-WEN Internship Program helps students understand what it takes to be “World Class” in a competitive growing marketplace, while meeting great people and learning new things.
If you are interested in understanding what it takes to be a part of a world-class organization, then a JELD-WEN Internship could be your perfect fit.

The weekly mentoring conversations with your leader, and the completion of a project which the intern and appropriate manager jointly select. The combination of a meaningful project and recurring contact with your management team provides each JELD-WEN intern with a true, career-shaping experience just in time to make the intern's senior year of school much more relevant. As a JELD-WEN intern you will return for your final year of college with a big confidence boost in your personal and professional abilities.

It's all part of our "autonomous" internship philosophy -- providing you with the personal projects, independence and real-world experience you'll need preparing for a management career.

If real-world experience and the opportunity to test-drive a career direction appeals to you we encourage you to ask yourself a few questions to determine if JELD-WEN internship is right for you.
